Avi Yap is an photographer originally from Singapore and currently based in the bustling metropolis of Tokyo, Japan. With a focus on capturing the essence of everyday life, Avi’s photography goes beyond simply documenting moments; it reveals the unique and personal stories that lie within each frame.
Having started his career as an official sports photographer for major events like the World Championships and SEA Games, Avi have also expanded his portfolio to commercial photography. His work has taken him around the globe, photographing international celebrities such as David Copperfield and Hong Kong TVB artistes, as well as working with renowned brands such as COACH, BVLGARI, etc.
Avi’s exceptional talent has been recognized by the photographic community, and in 2021 he was appointed as a Leica Guild Member Singapore; a Local Ambassador for Leica Singapore. His work has been exhibited both locally and internationally, earning him praise for his ability to capture the essence of a moment and evoke an emotional response from his viewers.
